Shopping at the Supermarket / Покупки в супермаркете



Lesson Objective:



By the end of the lesson, learners should be able to understand and use basic vocabulary related to shopping in a supermarket. They will also practice asking and answering questions about prices, quantities, and location of items in a store using Russian vocabulary and grammar structures in English explanations.

Grammar Point:



In this lesson, we focus on using the verb "нравиться" (to like) and forming questions with "сколько" (how much/many).



Нравиться is used with the dative case to express preferences. Example:



  • Мне нравится этот супермаркет. – I like this supermarket.

  • Тебе нравятся свежие овощи? – Do you like fresh vegetables?



Сколько is used to ask about quantity or price. Examples:



  • Сколько стоит хлеб? – How much does bread cost?

  • Сколько яблок вы хотите? – How many apples do you want?

Dialogue:



Анна заходит в супермаркет. Она берет тележку и идет к отделу с фруктами. Она выбирает яблоки и бананы. Потом она идет к хлебу и берет один батон. На кассе она спрашивает: «Сколько стоит?» Кассир отвечает: «Триста рублей». Анна оплачивает покупку и берет чек.

Listening Comprehension:



Listen to a conversation between a customer and a cashier. Identify the items being purchased and their prices.

Task: Practice the following dialogue with a partner.



A: Excuse me, how much do the apples cost?

B: 150 rubles per kilogram.

A: I’ll take two kilograms, please.



Use Russian words like "яблоки", "рублей", "килограмм", "я возьму".
