Introducing Yourself in Russian

Grammar Point:
Introducing Yourself with "Меня зовут"
In Russian, you introduce yourself by saying "Меня зовут" followed by your name. This literally means, "They call me."
Example:
Меня зовут Анна. — My name is Anna.
Меня зовут Джон. — My name is John.
Using the verb "to be from"
To say where you are from, use "Я из" followed by the name of a country or city in the genitive case.
Example:
Я из США. — I am from the USA.
Я из Москвы. — I am from Moscow.
