Accent
An accent is a particular way of
pronouncing a language. It is a combination of the sounds, stresses, and intonation used by a group of people to speak a language. Accents can vary by region, social class, education level, and other factors. For example, someone from the United States might have a different accent than someone from the United Kingdom, and someone from a rural area might have a different accent than someone from a city. Accents can also vary within a single language, such as between different regions of the same country or between different social groups within the same region.
